Sometimes friends will show me things that are *like* my interests but they don’t much about the thing, and it really is like being an art kid and getting one of these from my aunt.
Which is to say, I feel intensely loved that you thought of me in the first place, and that you are reaching out to me and even this pack of cheap markers and barely pigmented pencils will be used and loved- getting the mink-hair watercolor brushes was an astonishingly thoughtful and intimate gift, but one I can only sometimes use. These guys are great for gestural sketching and joke projects- things I often show to people to get them into my interests as well. It’s the same with entry-level memes.
So thank you, Aunt Helen and Internet friend. You’ve given me a gift of love that will in turn, bring me even more love in the future.
